A New Kind of Chic

Dear Digital Diary,

writing is chic.

There’s a trend on TikTok where a series of photos are posted, each with something the person thinks is chic. Now it’s not just Mary Jane shoes or burgundy colored upholstery, but ranges from movies and literature to habits and types. It has almost become an aesthetic trend for hot takes.

As I am well on my way to being chronically online, I, of course, have ideas about what I find chic. Consider this list my personal guide to chic-ness, sans explanation, and may it inspire you.

The word chic (pronounced “sheek”) means stylish, fashionable, and elegant. It describes a smart and sophisticated appearance or taste in areas like clothing, design, or decor.
